Capital Video Fills Out King Street Plans

In written correspondence with Carolyn Misch, a Northampton Senior Land Use Planner, Capital Video fills out the details of its plans for 135 King Street. We present it here for public consideration. This document includes diagrams of the site.

On page 2 of this file, Ms. Misch notes that “the Northampton bike path is planned along the rear of the parcel parallel to the rail line.”

Capital Video’s plans will be considered at a public Site Plan Review on October 26, 8:30pm at 212 Main Street. A representative of Capital Video is required to attend, making this a rare opportunity for citizens to meet the people behind the porn shop.

The fate of Capital Video’s porn shop, currently slated to be 6,222 square feet in size, will be affected by an ordinance now being considered by the city to require large adult businesses to locate in Northampton’s Highway Business Zone and be at least 500 feet away from homes, schools, houses of worship, and certain other places where children are likely to be found. This ordinance will be considered by Northampton’s Planning Board on October 12, 7pm at 212 Main Street. This meeting is open to the public.

We encourage concerned citizens to attend both the October 12 and October 26 public meetings.
