Gazette: “City to consider new ‘adult’ rules”


August 22’s Gazette reports on the city’s efforts to include viewing booths in the purview of existing adult zoning regulations, and to regulate the signage of adult businesses. NPN provided details about this a few days ago.

“They’re not trying to stop adult book stores or adult video stores, but how they present themselves to the community,” said Wayne M. Feiden, director of the Office of Planning and Development….

“I’ve tried to do everything we can to protect ourselves from something we don’t want to see on King Street,” said [Ward 3 city councilor Marilyn] Richards, who represents that neighborhood…. “I haven’t talked to one single soul who thinks it’s a good location,” she said.
