Northampton’s Office of Planning and Development tells NPN that Capital Video still has not submitted their Planning Board Application as of today (August 23). If they don’t get it in by August 28, the application will be too late to be considered at the public planning meeting of September 28, and would slip to a later meeting.
We will continue to track this.

A store of this sort should NOT be located in a highly visible area on one of the two main avenues of a town, where it will affect the general atmosphere and perceived image of a town; rather, it should be relegated to a less visible location (the customers will have no difficulty in locating it, wherever it settles). It is a pity that we cannot ban it entirely, but efforts to discourage the prospective tenants are to be commended. John Andrulis, candidate for state representative
