Sex Trafficking Conference, April 2-4, McAllen, TX

The Women’s Studies Committee of South Texas College announces the 2008 Sex Trafficking Conference. It will take place during April 2-4 at South Texas College – Pecan Campus, 3201 West Pecan Boulevard, McAllen, TX.

Proposals for papers, panels and roundtables will be accepted through February 20. Topics may include:



  • The nature and causes behind the growing demand for services performed by persons who are trafficked

  • The causes and effects of sex and labor trafficking

  • Organized sex tourism

  • Enslaved prostitution

  • Strategies for reducing the global practice of sex and labor trafficking
