WSHM Springfield: “Northampton Residents Protest Porn Shop”

July 20: Springfield CBS affiliate WSHM reported on Northampton citizens’ objections to the proposed King Street porn shop:

“‘The more we found [out], the more we were concerned and most people are
too,’ said Adam Cohen, who is against the shop being in his
neighborhood….

“Residents say the content isn’t necessarily the
problem…they’re concerned about the effects it’ll have–since the
shop will be located next to schools, churches, and homes.

“‘These
shops have been known to be a location for casual sex and behavior that
spreads STD’s,’ said Jendi Rieter, who is also against the shop….

“‘We’re not trying to regulate any kind of [protected] speech. We’re mostly concerned about the secondary effects on the neighborhood,’ Reiter said.”
